5) We really do work a lot more than just Sundays.
I remember sitting in the pews as a 16 year old student, having loved Jesus only a couple months when I heard that our church would be hiring an “Associate Pastor.” I was so confused! What in the world could the Pastor need help for? All he did was preach on Sunday and lead a Bible Study on Wednesday night. In reality, most pastors work far in excess of 40 hours, and the pastors I know personally tend to be closer to 50-55 on a regular work week. Consider helping your pastor redeem some of their time in the month of October by helping out around the church.
