7 Things Your Pastor Wishes You Knew

7) We have a hard time balancing God’s expectations and our congregation’s expectations.  

You want your pastor to be true to God’s calling and honor Jesus in every decision, right?  What if that means changing the type of music, or the order of service, or *gasp* moving the pulpit?  What if it means saying no to visiting Great Aunt Bertha who is about to undergo traumatic surgery to remove the plantar wart and spending time with a sinner instead?  If you really want your pastor to follow God’s will it’s reasonable to assume that he or she will eventually disagree with you.  Consider abandoning whether or not you like a decision and start encouraging your pastor to share God’s vision for the church with you.
