Bill Clinton Flips on Obamacare: “It’s Crazy” to “It’s Good”

Former president Bill Clinton has been making his rounds on behalf of his wife, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, in Ohio this week; where he apparently spoke off the cuff just a little bit too much and now is making a campaign approved course correction.

Yesterday, Clinton offered the following criticism while commenting on the Affordable Care Act — President Barack Obama’s flagship “achievement” while in office.

“You’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden 25 million more people have health care and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half,” Clinton said. “It’s the craziest thing in the world.”

Today, however, ole slick Willy changed his tune a bit, saying, “look, the Affordable Health Care Act did a world of good,” and pointing out that that the law has catalyzed a situation where 90% of Americans now have health insurance (it’s mandatory by law). “It’s the right thing to do,” he said.

Press Secretary Josh Earnest recently defended President Obama’s healthcare law, commenting that the meaning of former president Clinton’s comments were unknown to him. “You’d have to talk to President Clinton exactly what message he was trying to send,” he said.
