Top Five Games on the SNES Classic Mini

#2 Super Metroid
One of the highlights of the SNES was the return of Samus Aran to the console scene. Super Metroid did that and much much more. This game was phenomenal. Placing in 39 different “best video games of all time” lists, Super Metroid marked a reboot of sorts for one of their most interesting series of games. The game was beautiful graphically but it didn’t stop there. New gadgets were added including the grappling gun which allowed Samus to swing across dangerous areas. Epic boss fights were added and loads of familiar places from both the Gameboy game, “Metroid II: Return of Samus” and the original NES title “Metroid”. Without a doubt, this game deserves to be in my top five.

#1 The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
The third installment in the action RPG giant is it’s greatest success to-date. So many elements were introduced in this game that you still find in Zelda games today. The Master Sword, a parallel world, the lost woods, breaking pots, the list goes on and on. This game ranks in 44 “best games of all time” lists and is the only SNES title to do so. These rankings do not come without merit. This game deepened the story of Link and Hyrule. It solidified Link as a gaming icon in the 90s. The new assortment of tools combined with all of the different dungeons and environments that Link encounter made the game exciting to play. Add in a twisting story which brought Hyrule and it’s characters to life and you have an action RPG masterpiece.
