Former Democrat pollster, Pat Caddell — who worked for the campaign of Jimmy Carter back in 1980 (a campaign that Carter lost literally in the last week of the election) — recently spoke about Clinton’s current polling activity in the 2016 election (and the similarities with what happened in 1980) in an interview with Stuart Varney on Fox Business. Here’s what he said:
I’ve been looking at the data. People who are unfavorable to both, what I call the volatile mix which is 12-15% of the election … they are massively against, all the things I said structurally you can see them moving against the status quo —the incumbent who is essentially Hillary Clinton. Now, my sense was that they were going to break, that it was looking like it was going to break. Now with this latest information, I believe that is the “popper,” and I think this thing could open up significantly before its over.
