Paul, Cruz, Lee: “Partial Repeal of Obamacare Unacceptable”

Rand Paul Ted Cruz Mike Lee Obamacare Obamacare-lite

Republican senators Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee have allied together in opposition to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan’s plan to only partially repeal Obamacare — a strategy that may prove to be extremely effective. As the numbers currently stand, there are 52 Republicans in the Senate, so any bill hoping to pass through that chamber would be unable to so do without the support of these three Senators. This reality could force House GOP leadership to reconsider their ill-conceived attempts to appease angry liberals by allowing some of the Affordable Care Act provisions to remain in place.

The President seems eager to move on repeal as quickly as possible; as he believes his plans to reduce taxes cannot take place until after Obamacare’s repeal is complete.

“Taxes will come after the healthcare, because from a budgetary standpoint it’s much cleaner and much better if you do that,” Trump said. “But we’re moving very well both on budgetary matters and on healthcare and on tax cuts. Tax cuts will be very substantial, for business and for people.”

It remains to be seen if Paul Ryan and his establishment buddies will get on board with the president (and virtually all conservatives) to fully repeal the horrendously expensive and inefficient “Affordable Care Act;” but it is encouraging to see prominent Republican senators like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee standing up to make sure this does happen. What do you think? Will a full repeal of Obamacare make it through both houses of Congress and onto the president’s desk? Let us know on Facebook or in the comments below.
