4) Screaming At Controller Helps!

Yelling into the Famicon controller kills enemies in the Japanese version of the game. The Famicom system’s controllers featured built-in microphones which you could yell in to kill the Pols Voice enemy. This enemy didn’t die when the recorder was played, only when Famicom microphone detected noise. In the NES version of the game, which didn’t include microphones, the instruction manual still informed players that “Pols Voice hates loud noise”, leaving US players confused for years! If you have ever lost sleep at night wondering what “loud noise” Pols Voice hates, you can now rest easy.
