In America, today, the overwhelming majority of people religiously identify as Christian — about 71%. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth; a man who said to “worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.”

What does “worship” mean? Most people are familiar with the concept to some extent, and assign it meaning in relation to religious activity (maybe within the context of a church). Here is a dictionary definition of the word.


Extravagant respect or admiration for, or devotion to, an object of esteem.
